Ok now Horse slaughter is banned in the US and transportation to slaughter outside the US is almost there...who is gonna take care of the unwanted abandoned starving horses people are just turning loose, or worse...are NOT turning loose? Here in Maine, the rescues are crammed, and are turning away horses. What happens to these horses? Like some old wise men are saying, if you think its bad now, wait until spring, when hay is out, and these animals have been kept in barns, out of sight all winter, starving to death. Is this better? The pendulum has swung from one way to the other. There is no outlet for these unwanted horses, be they good or evil, so they are being subjected to the slow cruelty of no care and starvation? Since slaughter was too cruel, then what is the answer for this other cruelty?
And what is next? Cows? Pigs? Chickens?
Passion is good, but passion without logic is not.

an argument has two sides and somewhere between is the middle ground...a better solution would have been enforcing humane slaughter..
